American boxer George Foreman at the age of 45 became the oldest heavyweight champion when he defeated 26-year-old Michael Moorer in the 10th round of their WBA fight on November 5, 1994.

More than 12,000 fans watched the veteran grab the title from Moorer at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.

Australian soldiers fighting in the Korean War helped repel a major offensive by Chinese soldiers on November 5, 1950.
