Three identical triplets born on July 12, 1961, were separated at birth and given to three different families.
The respective adoptive parents had no idea their sons had brothers.
It was not until they were 19 that the truth emerged.
On Robert Shafran's first day of community college he was repeatedly greeted as a friend by strangers who called him "Eddy".
By the end of the day, Shafran had been introduced to Eddy Galland.
Realising they were both adopted, they concluded they were twins.
Months later, David Kellman read about the two twins in a newspaper and realised he was their brother.
The three became close, recognising the similarities they had together despite their different upbringings.
They moved in together and opened a restaurant called Triplets.
Eventually the pressure of running the restaurant strained their relationships and they became more distant over time.
The three men had unwittingly been the subject of a psychiatric experiment.
The triplets had been placed in three different homes - one affluent, one middle class and one working class.
The researchers studying them would pay them regular visits, though neither children or their parents knew their motives.
The results of the experiment were never published and will remain sealed until 2066.
Disco had drawn the particular ire of young straight white men, who saw it as a celebration of gay or African-American culture.
While disco was tremendously popular at the time, the typical baseball fan would be far more likely to listen to rock music.
