April 20
A James Bond knock-off movie starring the brother of Sean Connery was released in Italy on April 20, 1967.
The Italian spy thriller OK Connery was premised on the exploits of the brother of James Bond.
To play the role, the producers cast Neil Connery, a plasterer with no acting experience.
But they noted Connery looked and sounded like his brother.
Yet when the film was released, Connery's voice was dubbed by an American actor.
The film also cast Bernard Lee, who played M in the James Bond series, and Lois Maxwell, who played Moneypenny.
Maxwell noted she was paid more for OK Connery than for all her Bond appearances combined.
When it was released in America, it was renamed Operation Kid Brother.
Variety described the movie as "unbelievably inept".
