Tiny dog brings San Francisco traffic to a standstill

San Francisco police locked down the bustling Bay Bridge on Sunday morning to pursue a runaway small dog.

Dash cam footage from a patrol car shows a small black Chihuahua with a skull chain collar scampering down the westbound lane, followed by another officer in slow pursuit on a motorcycle.

California Highway Patrol posted footage of the incident which temporarily brought traffic to a near standstill on the busy five-lane bridge.

The small dog appeared to relish the attention as it freely raced across the lanes.

Police officers eventually caught the canine and took it to San Francisco Animal Care and Control.

California Highway Patrol are hoping to reunite the dog with its owners.
