Time magazine releases list of 100 most influential people for 2016 (Time)
It’s that time again - Time magazine has released its annual list of the 100 most influential people for 2016.
Those included range from politicians, to sport icons, to transgender advocates and actors and musicians.
The magazine celebrates the icons through a series of short essays, penned by notable figures in their field.
There are also six different covers available, staring Leonardo DiCaprio, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, actress Priyanka Chopra, composer Lin-Manuel Miranda and International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde.
A number of the top candidates running in the US presidential election made the list, including Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.
Current US president Barack Obama was also included.
Transgender advocate and reality star Caitlyn Jenner was given a nod, as was Pope Francis.
The list also celebrated entertainers Melissa McCarthy, Charlize Theron, Ariana Grande and supermodel Karlie Kloss.
Sports stars Rhonda Rousey, Lewis Hamilton and Usain Bolt also nabbed spots.
