Thrillseekers BASE jump from net suspended over canyon

BASE jumpers in the US have created a spider web stretching the width and length of a canyon for easy jumping.

Video published on YouTube on Friday shows their creation, dubbed the "Spacenet", supporting at least 10 jumpers as they zip line and tightrope in from various cliffsides surrounding the Moab canyon in Utah last month.

At the centre of the intricately hand-woven web – suspended 120m high and 60m in any direction from the nearest cliff – a wide opening allows adrenaline junkies to jump through far from obstruction.

According to its creators, the Moab Monkeys, the platform also serves as a place to kick back and take in the views of the southern Utah township's Mars-like terrain.
