Pervert known as the Tickler is real: police

A man known as "the Tickler" has been sneaking into peoples' homes around Boston in the US and tickling their feet as they sleep.

Police confirmed at least 10 sightings of "the Tickler" who many in the neighbourhood around Boston College believed was an urban myth, Boston.com reports.

"This is no myth," said police community service officer Sergeant Michael O’Hara. "It's happening."

The Tickler has been spotted on several occasions over the past two years, described as a black man of unknown age who wears dark clothing.

Some reports say the man crept into his alleged victims rooms and night and watched them sleep and others said he looked through their windows as he performed a sexual act.

Boston College student Daniel Marenzi, one of the Tickler's possible victims, said he woke up one Sunday last October to the feeling of someone tickling him.

"I thought my friend was just trying to annoy me, but I soon realized it wasn't anyone I knew," Mr Marenzi told the website.

"I freaked out and sat up but he was already on the way out."

There were at least three students who reported seeing the Tickler on the same night in April.

However, there are no reports of the Tickler stealing any of his alleged victims' belongings despite items such as laptops and phones being in easy reach.
