US Border Patrol agents have been one of the main law enforcement agencies catching migrants entering the country illegally.
But Trump has invoked emergency measures to bolster resources in the area.

Fortifying barriers has long been a military task on border missions.
But Trump has hinted strongly at the unprecedented use of the armed forces to repel what he calls a "disastrous invasion".
Trump's declaration of a national emergency at the southern border indicates he may redirect money, as he did during his first term, to get billions of dollars for border wall construction.
Some of it will be directed to repairing gaps in the huge border barrier.
Trump has also used the pressure of anticipated tariffs on Mexico to strike a deal with its government.
Mexico agreed to deploy an extra 10,000 members of its National Guard to border town to stem the flow of unauthorised migrants and illegal drugs.
But hundreds of thousands of migrants, such as these children, have been left in limbo by Trump's border crackdown.
