Terry Crews says top Hollywood agent groped him at a party
Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews has described to ABC News US how he was left feeling “emasculated” after a talent agent grabbed his genitals at a party last year.
During a segment of Good Morning America today, Crews said he was attending a party in February 2016 with wife Rebecca King-Crews last year when he saw Adam Venit, the head of the motion picture department at William Morris Endeavor, making tongue moves at him.
"I’m looking like, 'Is this a joke?' ... It was actually so bizarre," Crews said.
"He comes over to me. I stick my hand out and he literally takes his hand and puts it and squeezes my genitals.
“I jump back like, ‘Hey, hey!’”
Crews said Venit persisted in his behaviour, forcing Crews to push him away.
"I have never felt more emasculated, more objectified. I was horrified," Crews said.
"It’s so bizarre. I wake up every morning wondering, ‘Did this really happen?'
Crews said he had not even spoken to Venit prior to this incident.
The Expendables star added that last month's news of sexual harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein triggered an episode of post-traumatic stress, prompting him to file a police report against Venit.
A message seeking comment from the agency was not immediately returned.
Crews says he felt empowered to share his experience after so many women came forward with allegations against Weinstein. Crews told Strahan he "will not be shamed”.
William Morris Endeavor handles a broad portfolio of A-list Hollywood celebrities.
