Taxi driver falls flat after fly-kick fail

With his target in his sights and revenge on his mind a taxi driver in Brazil launched a spectacular fly-kick at a robbery suspect being held by an undercover police officer.

But the energetic attack ended badly for the aggressor when the suspect casually sidestepped the kick, leaving nowhere for the vigilante cabbie to go but the pavement.

The badly-aimed attack was captured by a TV news crew in Vitoria, Espirito Santo on Tuesday after a woman was allegedly robbed on a bus

When the crew heard the victim crying for help they followed with their camera rolling and filmed the officer abandon his scooter in the middle of the road to hunt down the suspect.

After the failed kick the suspect was subdued by the armed undercover officer.

Moments later the sobbing victim appeared and identified the suspect, who continued to resist until another bystander restrained him in a wrestling-like hold.

It is unclear if the man has been charged over the alleged crime.
