Syrian rebels taunt enemy sniper with puppet

Who knew getting shot at could be so fun?

A group of rebels have added a slice of comedy to the battlefields of the Syrian civil war by taunting an enemy sniper with a puppet, causing him to shoot wildly.

The camouflaged soldiers, believed to be Uzbeks opposed to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, were pinned down in a building by a sniper when the puppet was produced.

Dressed in a balaclava and a jacket, and controlled with a stick, a soldier sticks it out into the literal firing line, causing the sniper to fire a number of shots, to a chorus of cackling laughter.

The soldier pulls it back to adjust it, and then sticks it out again, wiggling its head up and down, causing it to be shot at again.

The video that first appeared online early last year but has started retrending on social media sites, attracting more than 300,000 views.
