Swiss driver chases runway car onto highway

A Swiss driver has chased his car onto a busy motorway, dodging cars and trucks after forgetting to put on the handbrake.

CCTV take on October 17 in Neuchatel, Switzerland shows the man sprinting onto a motorway after his car rolled away from a breakdown lane.

The car cuts across three lanes of traffic and ricochets off a safety barrier before being knocked back onto the highway.

The unknown driver appears to pay no attention to the cars and trucks speeding towards him as he races behind his runaway car.

The vehicle eventually comes to a halt after crashing into a sign post.

Despite some minor damage to the front bumper, both the driver and car came out of the incident unscathed.
