Spring Breakers cheer on police officer as he choke-slams two revellers

Bystanders have cheered on a police officer after he slammed one man’s face into the sand and put another to sleep with a choke-hold at Spring Break yesterday.

Deputy Sergeant Bryan Bingham was called to break up a fight between up to 15 people  on a beach in St Petersburg, Florida.

On arrival he first subdued one man with a wrestling style choke-slam, and when the culprit’s friend tried to intervene, he put him to sleep.

The crowd at the beach stepped in to help the police officer, kicking sand at the offenders and putting the second man’s hands behind his back.

The footage ends with Deputy Sgt Bingham sitting on top of the first man with his arm around the head of the second man.

A spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Office said they were reviewing the footage but no formal investigation had been launched.

The fight was also filmed by a  drone flying on St. Pete Beach by YouTube user Anthony Bove.
