Truck drives right over scooter rider's head

A scooter rider's helmet has saved them from certain death after coming off their bike and under the wheel of a truck.

Security camera video shared online yesterday captured the Chinese rider's brush with death when the truck knocked him from his bike and drove straight over his head.

In the video, the scooter slides out from beneath the driver as they hit the bitumen, while the blue truck goes over the helmet like a bump in the road.

The uninjured rider sits frozen for a moment before standing up and looking around in disbelief.

As bystanders come by and inspect the scooter and its rider, the grim reality sets in for the man who just survived having his head almost crushed.

He crouching down with his head in his hands and weeps.
