NZ earthquake: Scientists use drone to show Kekerengu Fault rupture

Recently-released aerial footage has detailed the enormous impact caused by the 7.8 magntitude earthquake on the Kekerengu Fault in New Zealand.

GNS science released the video, which is believed to be one of the faults responsible for the large tremor, showing deep cracks and gouges in the landscape.

The earthquake, which struck on November 14, killed two people and prompted a number of aftershocks.

GeoNet had previously reported the quake caused numerous land shifts, including a rising seabed by more than a metre at the southern end of Clifford Bay.
