Moment mum stops thug from robbing kids at gunpoint
A would-be robber in Brazil picked the wrong target in Sao Paulo.
Video shows the offender waving a revolver at terrified mothers and their children outside a primary school on Saturday.
Unbeknownst to the gunman, one of the women in the group named Katia Sastre was an off-duty military officer who quickly jumped into action.
Pulling out her own weapon, Ms Sastre is shown shooting the offender three times.
He drops his gun, allowing the mother to pin him down until more police officers arrived.
The 21-year-old gunman later died in hospital, The Washington Post reports.
Ms Sastre has since been honoured by the city’s Governor, Marcio Franca, for her quick-thinking valour.
“Her courage and accuracy saved mothers and children at the door of the schoo,” Mr Franca said of the 42 year old.
