Witch's hat sucked into plane's engine

It appears the 'safety first' message was lost on one absent-minded baggage handler working the tarmac at Chicago's O'Hare Airport.

CCTV footage from the airport shows two ramp agents meandering around an American Eagle Airlines Embraer 170.

Seconds later, a worker standing next to the plane's engine appears to pick up a witch's hat only to have it sucked into the aircraft's propellers.

Sparks fly and smoke immediately begins seeping out through the engine.

Thankfully the mishap didn't cause any major damage to the plane which was soon cleared for take-off.
