Sinkhole swallows Russian man waiting for bus
A Russian man waiting for a bus was suddenly swallowed up by a huge hole that opened up on the road.
Security cameras captured the moment last Thursday when the man sank beneath the hole in the city of Yaroslavi, 250km north east of Moscow.
Passers-by and police helped to rescue the man from the hole which was almost 6m deep, reports Russia Today.
An ambulance took him to hospital but he suffered no serious injuries.
Local authorities said the road collapsed due to a broken sewer pipe that led to the ground under the pavement becoming washed out.
The poor quality of Russian roads have become infamous leading to a number of incidents.
Last month a 15m-wide sinkhole appeared in the city of Vladivostok in the country's far east.
