Russians unfazed by road rage shootout

Angry men exchanging gun fire in the middle of public road would normally send bystanders running in fear — but not in Russia.

A violent road rage incident in St Petersburg that saw guns drawn was covered by Russian news agencies yesterday, Life News reports.

A video of what appears to be the end of the incident shows two men firing at each other from a short distance apart on an icy road.

The dispute allegedly kicked off when a Volvo pulled suddenly in front of a BMW four-wheel drive.

Judging from the footage, it appears the BMW later overtook the Volvo and forced the driver to stop before the motorist and four other men reportedly exited the luxury off-roader.

What happened next is unclear. A video of the incident shows a person with a bloodied face in the back of the Volvo.

In the background two men can be seen shooting at each other as bystanders look on, one of whom appears giggle at the life-threatening situation.

Despite the chance of being caught in the crossfire the other people at the scene appear remarkably calm with no one running away as the shots ring out.

Police are investigating the incident.
