Russian army called in to try and extinguish oil fire in Siberia- by shooting at it

The Russian army is trying to extinguish an out of control fire at an oil well in Siberia - by shooting at it.

The blaze started two weeks ago in a wellhead at the Irkutsk Oil Company (INK) in the the Yarakta oil field, according to The Siberian Times.

Dramatic pictures show an intense plume of flames emerging from a tower.

And while nobody lives in the area, the Russian Army has been called in to try and put it out.

Their aim is to shoot down the structure of the well.
