Russian air force carriers have been filmed dropping a large number of bombs as part of its aggressive campaign to rid the Islamic State from Syria.

Vision from the inside and underbelly of a Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bomber shows at least 10 missiles raining down on the ground below.

Just out of shot a second war plane can be seen releasing a similar number of bombs.

While the footage doesn’t show the impact of the weapons or the area of the attack, the video’s caption claims the attack zone is Deir ez-Zor, the seventh largest city in Syria.

Russia has been working with the Syrian Army to regain control of large territories in Latakia province. The Syrian Army has now reportedly regained control over 28 towns.

Russian military have unleashed attack runs on close to 500 terrorist targets in Syria in just three days, RT reports.

“We are in no way going to interfere in (Syria’s) state structure, or in solving (domestic) problems that Syria and other countries in the region are facing,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday.

“Our only task is to help the Syrian people and the country’s legitimate government fight terrorism."

The Russian military has carried out 169 attacks in two days between January 22 and January 24.
