Runaway giant inflatable Halloween pumpkin causes havoc on US streets

Halloween has come early for some US motorists, confronted with the alarming sight of an enormous runaway pumpkin rolling towards them at high speed.

The giant inflatable jack-o-lantern had been on display at the Peoria Centre for Performing Arts in Arizona when heavy winds blew it from its mooring on Thursday.

Video posted by local Diego Ramirez showed the smiling, inflatable horror cruising through busy city streets as it made its bid for freedom.

The pumpkin bounced off several cars before coming to rest in a nearby car park.

No one was injured in the incident.
