Hobbyist injured after remote control car crashes into him at 160km/h

Dramatic footage has emerged of a man injured, left with deep lacerations to his leg after being hit by a remote controlled car travelling at a whopping 160km/hr.

Motor enthusiast Gentry Palmer,24, from Alabama was standing curb side, watching his friend, Leaman Griffin drive an electric racing car on a public stretch of road.

In the video captured by Mr Griffin earlier this year, the specialised car can be seen accelerating before it loses control, veers off course and directly collides with Mr Palmer, the force of the impact flipping him and knocking him to the ground.

Mr Palmer is next seen clutching himself on the grass as his friend races over to see if he’s alright.

“Please check my left leg… it hurts really bad,” Mr Palmer can be heard saying.

“Your legs are fine. I know they hurt, but they’re straight. If it was broke, you would know,” Mr Griffin says in what seems like an attempt to reassure the visibly pained Mr Palmer.

But as Gentry rolls up his jeans, deep gashes can clearly be seen.

He was driven to hospital where he required several staples to the wound.

Mr Palmer has since reassured YouTube viewers that he’s made a full recovery. Pictures of the remote controlled car on the other hand shows it a little worse for wear, with a missing wheel, plastic shell and its wires in a tangle.
