Cleaner shoved on to train tracks in unprovoked attack

Disturbing CCTV footage shows a female railway station cleaner being pushed on to train tracks in a reportedly unprovoked attacked.

Video shows the 59-year-old rail worker waiting for a train on a Hong Kong station platform as a man approaches her from behind.

Without hesitating, the man powerfully shoves her on to the train tracks.

The attack happens so quickly that the woman is unable to brace herself for the fall.

As she lies immobile on the tracks, the man walks along the platform without looking back.

Fortunately, no trains can be seen approaching the station.

The South China Morning Post reports that a 56-year-old man was arrested near the station on suspicion of the assault.

The cleaner was rescued from the tracks and taken to Pok Oi Hospital.

“The woman suffered injuries to her jaw and was sent to Pok Oi Hospital for treatment,” a police spokeswoman told the Post.
