Protester punched, jostled at Donald Trump rally

A protester interrupting a speech by Donald Trump has been roughed up by crowd members during a rally in Pennsylvania.

Ethan Paul was listening to the presidential candidate in Mechanicsburg on Tuesday before unfurling a banner reading "Refugees welcome".

As he began to chant "refugees are people too", Paul had the banner snatched from his hands.

Amateur video footage shows the protester being grabbed by the collar, pushed and shoved as he shouts during the rally.

The video even appears to show punches being thrown at Paul.

"Even though I knew what would happen to me, I would stand up and I would fight and be the voice for the voiceless," he told WGAL.

It was Paul's second protest of a presidential candidate in four days.

Earlier this week he interrupted a Harrisburg rally of Hillary Clinton's where he lambasted her ties to Wall Street.

But that time the other audience-members just looked at him until he left of his own volition.

Paul decided not to pursue charges against the man who punched him at the Trump rally.
