A Youtube prankster has been labelled a "psychopath" after dousing a man in gasoline and setting him ablaze.

Jassim Rajab, an actor from Kuwait, has been criticised online after uploading a clip to Youtube on Saturday showing a blindfolded man being set on fire.

In the video Mr Rajab smiles and pours an accelerant on the man before striking a match and throwing it toward him in an attempt to see if his screams were "masculine", Al Araybia reported.

The subject is consumed by a large ball of flames, but only remained alight for a moment before another man entered and extinguished the fire.

Youtube users were quick to condemn the prank and Mr Rajab for conceiving it.

“This psychopath should be imprisoned and seek treatment,” one user wrote.

"Even the fire extinguisher is dangerous - if it's CO2 you could die," said another.

Mr Rajab said "all precautions" had been taken before the stunt, including coating the man's clothing in a fire retardant liquid.
