No tsunami expected after powerful 7.3 magnitude earthquake hits Vanuatu

A powerful earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.3 has struck about 46km northeast of Port Olry in Vanuatu.
The earthquake struck at a depth of 117km, at 8.52am AEDT.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami threat because the quake was located too deep inside the earth.
