Police officer in horrifying motorcycle accident saved by uniform
A policeman is lucky to be alive after crashing his motorcycle into a car and flipping through the air several times before falling to the ground.
Petty Officer Roberto Medina Onocco, 24, crashed into a car while travelling to work on Tuesday morning in Chimbote, a port city in central eastern Peru.
Video surveillance footage shows the policeman slam into the black car, whose driver was travelling very slowly across the lane which Mr Onocco was motoring down.
Mr Onocco then flips several times over the black car and hits the tarmac.
Men standing nearby slowly come to the aid of the policeman and another motorcyclist pulls over to assist him.
Amazingly, Mr Onocco was saved by his helmet and protective police uniform - which included a bulletproof vest.
He suffered bruising and a cut to the head, according to RPP.
