Road rage fight escalates into massive brawl

Two enraged drivers didn't even exchange words before launching into a vicious road rage brawl which has sparked a UK police investigation.

What started as a one-on-one confrontation on a bridge on the Isle of Wight quickly got out of control as burly thugs poured out of a tiny hatchback to join the melee.

It is unclear what sparked the violence, which was filmed by a passing motorist, but the brawling kicked off when two men in separate cars stormed out of their vehicles and began throwing punches.

Seconds later another man intervenes and begins wildly swinging punches at one of the attacker as he wrestles his rival on side of the road.

Moments later two men exit the parked car that one of the original fighters had come from and join the in the melee.

After about a minute of intense fighting the belligerents appear to have had enough and return to their cars.

When officers arrived at 6.20pm the men had already fled the scene .

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
