Poker player mistakenly thinks he’s a millionaire following final tournament hand

A Czech poker player has been left red-faced after his friends' reaction made him think he had won the World Series of Poker's 'Colossus II' event.

After the final card was revealed to be an ace, Czech poker player Jiri Horak's entourage burst into boisterous celebrations.

Mr Horak then sprinted into his friends’ arms, thinking he had won the US$1,000,000 top prize.

Unfortunately, his friends were mistaken and his US rival Ben Keeline had actually won with an ace-high flush.

Mr Horak received second place and a prize of US$618,000.

Mr Keeline knew his flush had won the competition, and there were confusing scenes as both players celebrated.

When Mr Horak eventually realised what had happened, he walked over to congratulate Mr Keeline, who had dropped to the floor following his win.

Mr Keeline said he did not expect to continue on the relentless professional poker tournament circuit, and may return to his previous job as an Uber driver.

"I might just go play occasionally and keep [driving Uber]," he said.

"I keep saying how I wish I had been doing that for the last two years."
