Plane weaves between traffic to land on busy highway
A small plane has surprised motorists as it made an emergency landing on a Long Island highway.
The Cessna C206 made a “precautionary landing” on a busy Sunrise Highway in Suffolk County, Long Island, CBS Local reports.
The plane was travelling from Brookhaven Airport in Shirley, New York to Eagles Nest Airport in West Creek, New Jersey when it needed to land shortly before 1pm.

The pilot told media that he managed to land the plane between the cars in front and behind him and had even went under an over pass – all this, and neither he nor the plane suffered a scratch.
The bizarre incident only got stranger when a police car then pulled over the aircraft.
It’s unclear what went wrong with the plane.
