Pete the Wombat farts live on air while eating corn

Pete the hairy-nosed wombat has gone viral after he was filmed eating, and farting, live on air.

Pete was being filmed for the BBC2 show Natural World.

In a live cross, which has now been viewed more than 250,000 on YouTube, a presenter can be seen attempting to feed Pete some sweet corn, while he sits the wombat on his lap.

While trying to tempt the wombat with the corn, Pete suddenly let out a loud fart.

The bewildered presenter hesitated before awkwardly saying “wasn’t me”.

He finally managed to get Pete to dig into the corn, as he went at it “like a beaver chewing through wood”.

The internet seemed to fall in love with the wombat, with many people claiming to relate to the wombat.

“I finally have found my spirit animal. This is exactly how I am when I watch Netflix and grub ,” one user wrote on YouTube.
