Pedestrian side-steps street sign flattened in two-car crash
A roadside camera in Russia has captured the moment a pedestrian narrowly dodged a street sign as it was flattened by an out-of-control car.
Video shows the high-speed two-car collision as it took place at a busy Oktyabrsky intersection, in the country's Republic of Bashkortostan yesterday.
The pedestrian has just crossed the road when a turning car was T-boned by an oncoming driver, with the impact of the crash forcing both vehicles up onto the sidewalk.
The quick-footed bystander backs away from wreckage, inadvertently stepping out of the path of the street sign as it passes just centimetres past their face.
They appear shaken but unharmed as the gravity of the near-miss becomes clear.
It is not known if either of the two drivers were injured in the crash.
