Pair guilty of harassing manatee and calf

Powered by

Two men who cannonballed onto a mother manatee and her calf in Florida have been found guilty of harassing the endangered species.

The dimwitted pair, Taylor Martin and Seth Stephenson, both 22, filmed themselves luring the mother and her calf to a dock before leaping on top of them.

Thankfully neither the mother nor her calf were injured in the cruel act.

US Fish and Wildlife officials got hold of the video and pushed to have the pair arrested and subsequently charged.

Martin was slapped with a A$3190 fine and ordered to serve 175 hours of community service along with two years of probation.

Stephenson meanwhile must pay A$2190 and serve 175 hours of community service, along with two years of probation.

Both must also post an apology and statement of remorse on Facebook.
