Nine other countries with more nukes than North Korea

There are nine countries with a bigger nuclear arsenal than North Korea.

Kim Jong-Un signed a document declaring he was committed to the "complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula" in a historic meeting with US President Donald Trump yesterday.

However, the vow does not bring the world much closer to complete nuclear disarmament.

According to the Federation of America Scientists, the number of nuclear weapons has decreased significantly since the Cold War.

Yet there are 180 "vastly more capable" warheads positioned in the US, Russian, Britain and France on "high alert" and prepared to be fired at a moment's notice.

The data states America and Russia own approximately 4,000 warheads, which make up 93 percent of the globe's arsenal.

Russia, the United Kingdom and America have committed to reducing their inventories but "the pace of reduction is slowing compared with the past 25 years".

France and Israel have stable inventories, while China, Pakistan and India look to advance their own.

The estimates include deployed strategic and non strategic, reserved/non-deployed and military stockpile.
