Novak Djokovic defeats Roger Federer to win US Open

Tennis world number one Novak Djokovic has defeated Roger Federer to win the US Open for the second time.

The Serbian pro carved out a 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-4 victory in a riveting final at Flushing Meadows in New York.

It's the 28-year-old's 10th grand slam title, placing him alongside American Bill Tilden in equal-seventh place on the men's grand slam leaderboard.

Djokovic also becomes one of the oldest winners of a tennis major.
