Nine dead, 43 injured in multiple bus crash on German motorway

At least nine people have been killed and 43 left injured after three buses collided on a German motorway.

The crash happened early today on the autobahn that links Poland and Germany.

The Guardian reported the crash involved a coach carrying Polish holidaymakers, a Ukrainian bus and a Polish minibus.

There were deaths in both the double-decker coach and the smaller minibus and there were several serious injuries, according to German authorities.

Police identified six of the nine dead as Polish nationals. The 43 injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.
