NBA Finals: Aussie Matthew Dellavedova needs to start Game 3

Matthew Dellavedova needs to start Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Cavs Coach Tyronn Lue basically admitted it after the embarrassment of Game 2.

“They were tougher than us and more aggressive,” he said after 33 point loss.

Dellavedova goes harder than granite. Delly is to hustle what Kanye is to Kanye. You know it makes sense.

JR Smith has been starting at guard during the finals. His form coming in has been really good.

But he seems to have left that form in Ohio.

Frankly when it comes to finals, JR Smith is a horse & cart. Don’t look for a clutch; it’s just not there.

Smith was scoreless in the first quarter of Game 2.He eventually finished with 5.

Delly found 7 points, playing 16 less minutes than Smith.

Yes, Delly played 12 of his 16 minutes in the fourth quarter.

Yes, by that stage the game was over & the Warriors were playing an under strength line-up.

But you can only make the most of your opportunities and Delly always has a crack.

His assist that led to a Lebron James dunk was one of the few Cavs highlights of the second term.

Meanwhile, Smith was scoreless for that quarter.

Excluding Lebron, the Cavs total roster scored just 3 field goals and 1 free-throw in Q2.

That can’t happen in the finals.

Twelve months ago Delly started Game 3 and played himself into hospital. He hustled for everything, scoring 20 points.
