Music legend Cher has been accused of hiring men to kidnap her son from a New York hotel where he was staying with his wife.

The allegations were contained in court documents filed by Elijah Blue Allman's wife, Marieangela King, the BBC reports.

They allege that four men "removed" him from a New York hotel room on their anniversary in November 2022.

They recently came to public light as part of the couple's ongoing divorce proceedings.

King said she and Allman had spent 12 days at the hotel "working out our marriage".

Then on November 30, 2022, the night of the couple's wedding anniversary, four men entered their hotel room and "removed" Allman, King claimed in a court declaration in December 2022.

"I was told by one of the four men who took him that they were hired by (Allman's) mother," she alleged.

Cher, 77, is a Grammy, Oscar and Emmy winning singer and actor known for solo hits including Believe and film roles including Moonstruck.

In the court files from last December, King said that Allman had been receiving treatment at a medical facility for months.

She claimed she had not been informed where it was and was unable to contact him.

King said she was "very concerned and worried" about her husband, the documents said.

Allman, 47, is the son of pop star Cher and her former husband, the late rock musician Gregg Allman.
