Swarm of mosquitoes trap man inside car

A plague of insects of biblical proportions have swarmed on a US driver, trapping him inside his car out of fear.

The driver was pulled over on the side of a highway in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota, when hundreds of the winged creatures covered the windshield and windows.

There has been some debate online whether they are mosquitoes, locusts or mayflies, but given the recent concern about the Zika virus, the driver was understandably cautious.

The Devil’s Lake area appears to be a hotbed of mosquito activity, with footage uploaded late last month showing a car transformed into heave-worthy burial ground for thousands upon thousands of the insects.
