Missile launch creates rare smoke ring and ‘smoke angel’

An amazing phenomenon has emerged after the launch of a missile, creating a perfect smoke ring and a smoke angel.

The unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile was launched by the US Air Force yesterday as part of an operational test and evaluation program.

However, the launch is created buzz for a different reason after unique images were captured by US Air Force photographer Michael Peterson.

Mr Peterson snapped a few photos of the rocket’s launch, one being the smoke ring and the other an angel-like figure.
