Man with knife in back calmly waits for ambulance

Incredible images haves surfaced of a Brazilian man waiting for emergency services with a large knife in his back.

Elionardo Nascimento was sitting down for a drink with friends at a pub in Brasileia when an unknown attacker ran up to him and shoved a blade between his shoulders, The Sun reports.

Despite blood trickling down his back, Mr Nascimento, 22, was snapped with a calm expression on his face as he waited for an ambulance to arrive.

Surgeons told the newspaper the victim narrowly escaped serious injury or death, with the blade missing major organs “by millimetres”.

Mr Nascimento is now recovering in Rio Branco Emergency Hospital after undergoing an operation to remove the knife.

“I didn't feel any pain, I think I must have been in a state of shock. But I knew I had to keep upright and calm,” he told the The Sun.

“There was no point panicking as this would only have made the situation worse than it was already.”

Brasileia is located on the border of Bolivia, about 230km south of Rio Branco.
