Man threatened to drop baby from window if he didn't get enough 'likes'

An Algerian man has been sentenced to two years in prison for dangling a baby out of a window, threatening to drop the child if he didn’t get enough likes on Facebook.
The man posted a photo that showed his outstretched arm clutching onto the baby’s T-shirt out of a high-rise balcony with the caption: “1000 likes or I will drop him”.
News site Al Arabiya reported the young boy was dangled from a 15th floor window in the country’s capital of Algiers.
The man was arrested and charged on Sunday, the BBC reported.
The man is a relative of the child, but not the child’s father, Algeria’s Ennahar TV reported.
The man in court claimed the balcony had protective barriers on it which were digitally removed by other social media users, doctoring his original photograph.
The man’s father reportedly urged the judge to forgive the man, saying he had just been mucking around.
The original post prompted thousands of furious reactions, calling out the man over the display of child abuse.
