Man texts probation officer asking where to buy weed

A US man is heading back to jail after accidentally texting his probation officer to ask where he could buy marijuana.

Alvin Cross Jr. was on prohibition for an unknown offence when he made the mistake.

Prosecutors said Cross' prohibition officer received a text from him simply asking: "You have some weed?"

Alarmed, the prohibition officer alerted police who carried out a drug raid on Cross' apartment where they ended up discovering a bag of cocaine.

Cross has pled guilty to cocaine possession and violating parole and has been sentenced to a year in prison.
