Suspect gets knocked unconscious by US police

Powered by

A police officer’s use of force is being questioned in a lawsuit after a brutal tackle knocked a suspect unconscious so badly that he was in a coma for 12 days.

The moment has been captured on a dashcam with the suspect, named as Terry Cantrell by the Daily Mail, seen fleeing down a road before turning moments before the tackle to face the cop.

Cantrell claims to have put his hands up in surrender and is now suing the police force.

However the officer in question – Trevor McClure – says he saw a knife on Cantrell’s right hip.

As McClure tackled Cantrell to the ground, Cantrell struck his head against the sidewalk.

As a result, Cantrell has now sued the City of Ellijay and the two officers involved for $1.1 million, claiming excessive force, the Daily Mail reports.
