Man dies trying to give CPR to wife

An American man has died while trying to perform CPR on his wife.

York County police say David Molter, 84, died of natural causes last week as he tried to revive 83-year-old Coreen Molter, WFTV reports.

Caregiver Brandy Williams discovered Mrs Molter on her back on the floor of their South Carolina bedroom on September 9, with her husband's body slumped over her head.

That led investigators to conclude that Mr Molter attempted to use CPR to revive his ailing wife.

Ms Williams, who checked on the couple up to three times a week, was forced to kick in the front door of the home when a set of keys she found in Mr Molter's truck was unable to get the door unlocked.

She told WFTV the couple meant everything to her and were like grandparents.
