Magnitude 6.3 quake strikes off Solomons

An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 has struck off the coast of the Solomon Islands, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) says.

There was no immediate report of damage or casualties in the quake, which the monitoring agency said struck at a depth of 48km.
