Lucky onlooker snaps Queen on morning horse ride

The Queen has been captured on film riding out from her Balmoral estate on one of her fell ponies.

Accompanied by a groom, the Queen, dressed in a silk head scarf, jodphurs, a beige jacket and no helmet, waved on a car that had stopped to let them pass, the Mirror reports.

The footage was reportedly captured by a surprised sightseer who was taking pictures at the gates.

“[We were] wondering if the Queen was in residence when out she rode. We never expected to see her for one minute,” the sightseer said.

The Queen has been known to ride without a helmet and concerns have been raised for her safety in the past.
