A Ku Klux Klan leader threatened to "burn" a Latino journalist during a confrontational TV interview.

Christopher Barker, a leader of the KKK in North Carolina, made the chilling remark to journalist Ilia Calderon, a Colombian reporter for the Miami-based Univision station.

Barker was told to expect someone like the rest of the predominately Hispanic, lighter-skinned news crew, but appeared shock when Calderon arrived at his property.

Video shows the increasingly heated questioning of Barker, who Calderon pressed about his white supremacist views, reports the Washington Post.

As she questioned him about his beliefs, Barker called her n----r and told her to go back to her country. He also appeared to threaten her.

"Why don’t you go back?" Barker said in the interview, which Univision aired on Sunday.

Barker told her she was the first black person to step on his North Carolina rural property in the 20 years he had lived there.

“We have nothing here in America, ya’ll keep flooding it. … We’re going to chase you out of here.”

“Are you going to chase me out of here?” Calderón responded.

“No, we’re going to burn you out,” he said.

Later Calderon asked Barker if he intended to burn out the 11 million unauthorised migrants in the US.

"Don’t matter," he said. “We killed six million Jews the last time. Eleven million is nothing.”
