Kiwi schoolboy takes Anzac Day peace protesters to task

A New Zealand schoolboy became embroiled in a row with anti-war protesters who unfurled a banner at an Anzac Day ceremony.

James Broome-Isa, 12, and his father David Broome interrupted an interview with a group of protesters during the dawn service at Wellington Cenotaph, in a video captured by New Zealand news service Newshub.

Video shows an angry James unloading on the protesters.

"Do it tomorrow. It is the day before. Do it any day but today," he said.

"It's wrong, wrong, wrong."

James and his father, an official of the right-wing New Zealand First party, took offence at the silent demonstrators holding a banner at the cenotaph that read 'Lest We Remember: No NZ support for war.'

At the end of the video, David Broome tells the anti-war activists the timing of their protest was "just inappropriate".

The protesters had earlier laid a wreath and photos of Afghan civilians allegedly killed in a botched New Zealand Special Air Service operation in 2010.
